Mind-Boggling Illustrations by Oscar Ramos

February 7th, 2013 by Lina | No Comments | Filed in Design

“Escher on steroids” – this is how some commenters describe the illustrations by Oscar Ramos. In his latest project Ad+, Chilean artist shows that it’s possible to merge two completely different things with such smooth transition that you hardly notice how a baggy Converse turns into a paradise island in the same picture.

Also known by his nickname Piensa Positivo (“think positive” in Spanish), Oscar specializes in character design and photo manipulation. The creator of these mind-bending illustrations says his inspiration came from Maurits Cornelis Escher, a Dutch graphic artist, who classic perspective-defying works are known worldwide.

Pedestrian Crossing in China Turns Pedestrian Footsteps Into Leaves

September 19th, 2012 by Tomas | No Comments | Filed in Design

In order to demonstrate how choosing walking over driving actually helps the environment, Jody Xiong from DDB China, in cooperation with the China Environmental Protection Foundation, put together a very impressive outside installation on the the pedestrian crossings in China.

Massive 12.6-metre-long and 7-metre-wide white canvases with drawings of bare trees were unfolded on the pedestrian crossings in 15 different cities of China. On both sides of the sidewalk they put huge sponge cushions soaked in green environmentally-friendly paint. Every time a person crossed the street, the paint got on his/her shoes turning their footsteps into leaves. That way the creators were sending a message, that the more you walk, the greener the trees will be. Literally!

Almost 4 million people were involved in creating 132 trees. Now that’s efficient environmental education!

Scuba Diver Wall Sticker [Pic]

A super creative ambient advert promoting Senai Scuba Diving Professional Course. Don’t know about you guys, but in case of fire, I would feel really bad taking off the fire extinguisher as it’s the only thing keeping the scuba diver alive.

  • About us

It was in the back corner of McDonalds with a couple of hours to wait for a train home to Norwich, that theDot first came together. Freshly inspired by a weekend at the 4designers conference in London and having traipsed around museums and exhibitions all day, three minds came together over chicken burgers and chips.

The three are currently studying Graphic Communication at Norwich University College of the Arts, where they delve into advertising, corporate branding, design for publishing, photography, illustration and so on. All confident in their skills, but continuing on their learning journey.

We are a new design group hoping to achieve great things
